Hank III East Coast Tour / CURB Contract Date
Hank III.com has just announced tour dates of the East Coast, more might be coming. As of right now, there is no support band announced. What I have been hearing is that after the problems on the last tour with Izzy Cox, there will be no more Hank III openers. Hopefully this is not true, or not true forever.
Remember all of these concert dates, and the dates of all REAL country artists can now be found on the official Saving Country Music Calendar at www.savingcountrymusic.com/calendar, where you can also see some new dates for Justin Townes Earle, Peewee More, and others.
Also I have confirmed that Hank III’s contract with Curb Records will not be up until December 31st, 2010. This is different from what Hank III was saying right after the release of The Rebel Within, that would be only “three or four months.” That means there will be no new music at least until 2011.

THERE SHOULD BE SOME DATES COMING FROM THE 1ST WEEK TO MIDDLE OF AUG.UP TO AUG.26TH..I THINK YOU MISUNDERSTOOD WHAT HANK SAID ABOUT BEING FREE OF CURB..MIKE ACTUALLY HAD UNTIL DEC.31ST TO RELEASE REBEL WITHIN..I WAS SHOCKED HE RELEASED IT SO SOON..IF YOU REMEMBER CURB HAD 10 MONTHS AFTER HANK TURNED THE FINISHED CD IN..HANK TURNED IT IN AT THE END OF FEB..ADD 10 MONTHS TO THAT BRINGS IT TO DEC.31ST..

I don’t know Bandana, maybe I was confused.
When Outlaw Radio interviewed him on may 26th he said:
https://savingcountrymusic.com/big-news-from-hank-iii-interviews
I”™m just trying to move on with my career and not having my creativity held back. I”™ve got about 5 months to go, and then I”™ll be on my own.
which would have put it about in October. I’m not saying he lied or anything, that may of been what they were telling him. Curb has been screwey this whole time, I would be surprised if things have changed, and then changed again. I was thinking Dec. 31st being the date because it is the last day of 2010. That’s gonna be one hell of a New Years for III !!

Triggerman, what problems did Hank III have with Izzy Cox? I haven’t heard anything about that.

kocis,
This thread pretty much explains everything that is known at this point.

For the first time I feel bad for her, because if she’s the reason dozens of great up and coming bands don’t get one of the best opportunities to get their music in front of people, she’s gonna have a tough road ahead.

Just read that thread… I saw William Elliott Whitmore open for Clutch in Spokane several years back. He sat on a bar stool and played his banjo all alone, just like he does @ all his shows. Hank 3 and Clutch play the same venues, atleast in the pacific northwest. So all I can figure is that Izzy must not be be a great performer cause I am sure Hank’s fans were, on the whole, open to hear what she could do. And since she made it to the first shows it’s hard to believe she couldn’t sell enough merch to keep the show on the road. Like I said, her performances must have been subpar. A shame, since her songs seem to be pretty solid. Hopefully she wasn’t being drugged by anyone involved with III… I have met some weird motherfuckers at his shows and I know lots of people travel city to city to see him. It’s an awful story either way, assuming she isn’t just making shit up to cover her ass for bailing on the tour.
Perhaps Hank was referencing how much time he would spend actually, touring in support of the new album? At any rate, 2011 will be a killer year for III fan’s. There’s no telling how much new material he might get out. Sound’s like a minimum of two albums. Years back I had heard of some stuff he and Glen Danzig had worked on. If I remember right it was described as creepy and bluesey by Danzig himself… That was in an interview where Danzig was being
questioned about a rumoured project with himself and Jerry Cantrell. I am definitely stoked for next year!

Izzy wasn’t gaining a glowing reputation on this tour and I think her departure was more because of that than anything. I was disappointed though to not hear her play live. I thought she was good choice musically and Hank III has always had a way of promoting talent. I think all this will work out once CURB is officially out of the picture and we will see some great openers.

“Hopefully she wasn”™t being drugged by anyone involved with III”¦” I forgot to mention that this is a bullshit statement if I ever heard it Scott. You should be ashamed….

I’m not.

Thanks Triggerman. I feel bad for her as well. Though I have never seen her live I do like many of her songs.

I’m holding out hope for a last minute announcement of a freind or two that he can hang with. This is the end of the Curb era and I’m already getting nostalgic! These shows have been some of the best musical perfomances I’ve ever seen and as excited I am to hear the unhinged Hank, this shit is gold and I’m going to miss it.

i’m glad we got to hear Lucky Tubb & Those Poor Bastards on tour…probably would not have heard of them otherwise.
and that drugging the drink allegation…seems like a person who works in clubs would be street-wise enough to know sometimes crimes occur just because of an opportunity….
and if you leave your drink sitting around in a club unwatched…..
i read what Izzy posted about leaving the tour and it seemed like a lot of different /reasons/excuses.

Every time I see new Hank III tour dates it is getting more and more tempting, but in that period I can’t make it yet, so I keep my hopes up for later this year, I do hope he will play at Layla’s again by the end of this year or by the start of next year, soon as I know more, then I can make some plans, book a flight… if he will give shows at Layla’s I could mix it up with visit to Nashville where I want to visit the Country Music Hall Of Fame, and after or before that visit the Hank Williams Museum in Alabama, hopefully meet a lot of friends I never met in person but know for some years now…

She added me on facebook and according to reason posts, she seems to have had a mental/emotional breakdown and then soon after found out that she is,in fact, bipolar.
It does NOT mean she is crazy,or on drugs,or screwing any of Hank’s musicians.I thouroughly enjoy her music and i wish her only the best
