Jamey Johnson, Charley Crockett to Perform at Indian Relay Race Benefit

You will find few things more exciting in the world of equine sports than Indian relay races, and you will find few more entertaining performers in the country music realm than Charley Crockett and Jamey Johnson. One unique event looks to combine all of these things, and all for a good cause.
As Saving Country Music reported in 2024, the promoters at Outriders Presents built a legitimate a full-length horse/Indian relay track on the Big Mountain Ranch in Whitefish, Montana where the annual Under The Big Sky Fest is held. The fest already features a full-fledged rodeo that happens during the festival, and the track now opens up the possibility of holding relay races on a regular basis.
That’s exactly what they will do on June 28th, with Jamey Johnson and Charley Crockett providing the afternoon/nighttime entertainment. The event is being held as a benefit to the Wolves Den Youth Center, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering Lakota youth through mentorship, culture, and engagement.
2024 was the first year Indian relay races and a concert was held on the 350-acre Big Mountain Ranch. It was the brain child of Tyler Childers who attended a taxidermy and tanning course in Montana previously, and met a member of the Blackfeet Tribe. They became close, and Tyler decided he wanted to do something to help out the tribe out and helped organize the benefit with Outriders Presents. Vincent Neil Emerson also performed.
Whitefish, Montana is not convenient to much, though Glacier National Airport is nearby. But having attended this event in 2024, it comes strongly recommended. In Indian relay races, the rider is like the baton, and it’s the horses that change out each lap. It’s incredibly fun and fast-paced. Then to cap it off with Jamey Johnson and Charley Crockett, there’s not much better.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 28th at charleycrockett.com.

Honky Tonk Badonkadonk is the best thing he ever wrote. He also did a half-decent rendition of Do You Believe Me Now by Vern . Thats on YouTube. You cant beat the Voice but its the best country song of all time so its still good
