Listen to Lucky Tubb LIVE @ The Granada
At some point the world is going to have to wake up to just what an amazing talent Lucky Tubb is. This is not just another guy with a famous name doing a hokey neo-traditional bit, this is a singular talent with generations of music history to uphold and move forward. In my review of Lucky at The Granada, I said “something had clicked,” with The Modern Day Troubadours. The effect was a superlative set of music, played in front of a great crowd in a legendary venue.
After the show that night a drunken Lucky handed me a bootleg CD of the show and told me to do my worst. After spending some time cutting it up into tracks, cleaning up the levels a bit, and obtaining sober permission to post it, I now can present to you the entire Lucky Tubb concert on July 9th, 2010 at The Granada.

Have to say, “Huntsville” is frikkin pure sex in the ears man, how he fits that many syllables in a song I’ll never know. The version of “Damn The Luck” is epic as well. I’ve always preferred the songs Lucky writes himself.

Epicness.

Thanks Tom,
Man, I’ve had this playing for about a week, and aside for the obvious live quality issues, it’s just as good a collection of music as anything else put out recently.

Jackal,
Don’t know about your experience, but to get 16 songs out of an opener is pretty good. Hell, getting 16 songs out of a headliner is about average these days.

I had ta go take care of some things an I jes got back to this site. You are welcome Triggerman. Please keep this site up for as long as you live. It’s a site I want to get out to others. Maybe more folks’ll come here an learn about the real country music. Maybe then we will get closer the day real country music is back. I swear my sister turned on the radio the other day an I know I heard rock. I told her so an she was mad that I’d call country rock. Well I should know rock. I listen to heavy rock, punk, metal…an all that mess.

I agree nlindsay. I’ve discovered more contemporary bands in the last year that I love than I have since high school. Underground country is HOPPING these days!

I wondered what that show would be like w/ Wayne, but was surprised there was no duet. Regardless, I loved every minute and very much appreciate your work.
