Newest Additions to Saving Country Music’s Top 25 Current Playlist (#21)
Memorial Day weekend and a long hot summer is upon us, so what better time to retrofit the Saving Country Music Top 25 Playlist with some new tunes for holiday barbecues and long road trips.
Starting off the newest additions are the super fun and twangy “Cadillac Man” by Wes Youssi and the County Champs off their 2018 record Down Low. Wes Youssi is where to point your nose if you’re looking for old school classic country. For more contemporary tastes, Shotgun Rider has been creating considerable buzz for their 2018 release Palo Duro, and arguably one of the best selections from that record, “I’m Not Alright,” makes the new cut.
Then we have a couple of new lead off singles for upcoming albums to look forward to, including Lori McKenna‘s superbly-written “People Get Old,” from her upcoming album The Tree, and Chris Hennessee‘s duet with Jamey Johnson, “Wrong End of the Rainbow.” And possibly most impressive is Dwight Yoakam‘s surprise release, “Then Here Came Monday,” which is one of two songs Yoakam has released unexpectedly.
The Saving Country Music Top 25 Playlist primarily lives on Spotify, but is also available for those who use Google Play and Apple Music thanks to Country Exclusive. For those who don’t stream, you can still find the song recommendations in list form below.

I’m at the Lone Star Jam in Austin- right now listening to Kody West and he’s killing it! Before him saw Randall King – very good and Bri Bagwell. It’s plenty hot! Wondering if Trigger is here?

I am! I am wearing a brown hat and a brown vest with a camera slung over my shoulder, mostly standing at the side of the stage when folks are playing. Come find me.

And I did – I met the Trigger man at the festival today. We had a good visit during the Flatland Cavalry set, having to yell over the noise. I look forward to his review (hopefully) and some of the many pictures he was taking. Good day!

Good. Hope you were backstage or out in the lobby while you were yakking during flatland cavalry. Other folks might have been there to hear the music.

It was in a massive field with a huge arena setup, and we were standing off to the side. Trust me, nobody was bothered.

I heard 5 seconds of Wes Youssi’s Cadillac Man and knew I was going to have to get the whole album. Thanks for the heads up!
