Red Clay Strays Extend 2024 Tour Dates
You feel that? That’s the tingling you get when yet another worthy roots band gets its wings and flies into the stratosphere, bolstered by a sound the world was starving for. Thought that the Sun Records influences were all a relic of the past? The Red Clay Strays and their song “Wondering Why” currently charting on Billboard would beg to differ.
The Red Clay Strays have just announced new tour dates to go along with a string of sold out shows already on the calendar, and a bunch of major festival appearances as everyone lines up to get them on their roster. You basically have one more chance to see them in smaller venues or on midday sets at festivals. After their new Dave Cobb-produced album comes out later this year, it will be curtains on seeing them in intimate spaces. Don’t say you didn’t get fair warning.
These dudes have already sold out three nights in a row at the Ryman Auditorium in September, and these new dates about to go on sale will sell out super fast as well.
Tickets for these shows will be available for pre-sale starting Wednesday, February 7 at 10:00am local time, with general on-sale following Friday, February 9 at 10:00am local time.
Look alive.

We saw American Aquarium open for the Drive-By Truckers in Bloomington, IL this past summer. I’ve seen DBT four or five times now, that was the first time seeing AA. BJ puts on a helluva show, and the rest of the band was great—that Red Rocks show with Turnpike, AA, and Red Clay Strays should be an amazing night

I remember seeing these guys – kids at the time – back in 2016 like it was yesterday playing a 4 hour set at the Florabama doing Waylon and Sturgill and Johnny Cash covers. Brandon channeling his inner Elvis and John looking like Animal from the Muppets behind the kit. I walked out of there and committed that name – Red Clay Strays – to memory. There was no doubt in my mind they were special. Couldn’t happen to a nicer, more hard working group of guys. I’ve always said my first show at the Ryman needed to be for a special artist and I’m glad I waited. Seeing them in September will truly be a full circle moment. Next stop – headlining Red Rocks!

Going to definitely try to make it to one of the Columbus shows. These guys are fantastic, my favorite new band I’ve discovered in years.

I was able to see them in recent years in Pascagoula, MS and again in Biloxi, MS. The whole band are nice, hard- working, and entertaining. They’ve worked for their recent success, and I wish them well. One day I’ll make it to Flor-a-Bama.

I had the privilege of seeing these cats play 3rd & Lindsley twice back in 2022, and those shows still stand as the highlights of that year. Glad to see them finally getting the attention and success they deserve! Now, if only some of that luck would swing to Strung Like A Horse, all would be right with the world.

They’re bad ass. I missed them at Hanks a few months ago…can’t wait to catch them live eventually. The closure of Hanks in McKinney is an article worthy eulogy in my opinion

Two of the best shows I saw last year were Mike and the Moonpies/Silverada and Red Clay Strays. Brandon is a heckuva singer. Go see them if you can.

Saw them two weeks ago at Mile 0 Fest in Key West. They crushed it. Just committed to seeing them at Red Rocks with AA and Turnpike. That is a killer triple bill! If they ever come to Milwaukee or the Dells I will be there too. They won me over.

We just saw them lastnight in Wichita and OMG. We only came to watch them. Everyone was buzzing. They should have been the headliners. The energy Brandon brings to stage is reminiscent of Elvis. He gave the crowd chills. Everyone was singing along when they played Wondering Why. We got to hear 2 new songs and they were ironically both about topics that are going on in our lift today.
