Tyler Childers Maps Out Tour Schedule for Early 2018
Saving Country Music’s reigning Album of the Year winner Tyler Childers will be hitting the road hard and heavy in the first part of 2018 behind his award-winning record Purgatory, including some stops on some big stages, marquee performances at major festivals, and many other dates coast to coast in between.
The Stagecoach Festival in California, The Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee, and the Blue Ox Festival in Wisconsin will all be graced by Tyler’s presence this summer, with Childers headlining this year’s Stagecoach Spotlight tour ahead of the fest in late April with Lillie Mae, and select dates with Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real. Don’t be surprised if some more high-profile festival dates don’t pop up for Childers in the coming days as well.
Tyler Childers will also be opening two sold out shows in front of Margo Price at the Ryman Auditorium, a few select shows with John Prine, and he will have a big opportunity to play the historic Floore’s Country Store near San Antonio with the Turnpike Troubadours and Charley Crockett in April.
Country music is music from the people of the country, and that’s what you get with Tyler Childers. Within the songwriting and the music is a rawness and honesty often not welcome in the mainstream, even though an appetite for the type of soul Tyler Childers captures is widespread.
Some stops are already sold out, so don’t sit on these dates.

Awesome news. I wish he were doing more shows in Texas though.
February 5, 2018 @ 8:24 am
But Texas gets him with Turnpike and Charlie Crockett so y’all still win????

I wish I could go to that Helotes show. That is a KILLER lineup, but I’m going to be camping in Big Bend.
February 5, 2018 @ 8:47 am
I won’t be near that show either but I’love bet he’ll come back next time.

I wanted to go to this show, but if you cannot afford the $350 VIP seats next to stage it is not worth it. They sell too many tickets, you can’t move around and everyone gets shitfaced. The good VIP section is sold out, I think they only have the porch VIP tickets.

Thanks for the warning, Jacob. I’ve never been to Floore’s, so I had no idea what the venue was like.
February 5, 2018 @ 8:26 am
I’m hoping to see him at the 40 Watt in Athens!
February 6, 2018 @ 10:04 am
It’s already sold out unfortunately. Hopefully resell isn’t too much

Happy to see so many venues/gigs/festivals available to players and bands ‘down there ‘. Vancouver area has dried up dramatically in that respect in the past number of years …no matter the genre . So many GREAT players have no work and no prospects , the way the scene has changed up here .Not that is was ever a good country /roots/bluegrass scene .

I’m very excited to see him in Pittsburgh, March 2nd. They moved the show from Club Stage AE to the main stage because he sold so many tickets!
February 6, 2018 @ 7:49 am
Yeah, and Kelsey Waldon is opening for him. Should be a great show.
February 5, 2018 @ 10:05 am
Looks like he has sold out the Rock and Roll Hotel (capacity 400) in DC fairly far in advance. That’s a good sign. I’ve never been there. It seems like a tougher venue for a suburbanite like me to get to. It’s in the NE quadrant of DC and not close to a metro stop and I don’t think there’s much in the way of public parking. Hopefully, his trajectory continues to rise and I’ll get to see him next time in a venue that’s easier to get to.
February 5, 2018 @ 2:54 pm
It isn’t the best venue, but it’s a little better than the last place he played in the area, Songbyrd. Some of these spots get great acts but the layout isn’t always the best. That being said, I can’t wait to see him play live again. They tore the house down last time they were in town.
February 5, 2018 @ 10:41 am
Where was your “don’t sit on these dates” advice when I needed it? I waited on getting Detroit tickets because I may be out of town for work, and it sold out awhile ago.
February 5, 2018 @ 10:50 am
Drive down to Pittsburgh. I’ve done that drive hundreds of times – easy. They moved the Pittsburgh show to a bigger venue to accommodate ticket sells.
February 5, 2018 @ 10:53 am
Any sense on whether these are solo or full band shows?
February 5, 2018 @ 10:57 am
Full Band
February 5, 2018 @ 5:50 pm
What a pleasure it is to see folks respond so positively.
February 6, 2018 @ 7:37 am
Saw this guy last january in Hamburg(Germany) just him and his guitar and he just killed it!!!!
More or less 100 people attending the show, i guess sometimes living in Europe feels just lucky:
February 6, 2018 @ 7:38 am
Tyler also told us he would probably come back in europe by august…
February 6, 2018 @ 3:25 pm
Already got mine for Vermont!
February 6, 2018 @ 7:18 pm
It’s a shame he isn’t coming anywhere near Oklahoma, or coming here with Colter Wall.
February 7, 2018 @ 10:17 am
Man, you guys in the states are spoiled when it comes to tours. These great smaller artist seldom come up to Canada to play, and when they do it’s usually a 40 minute set at a festival.
