All Songs & Artists Featured on “Tulsa King” Season 1

See a full list of songs featured in each episode of ‘Tulsa King’ below.
At this point you probably don’t need to be told how terribly important Paramount’s blockbuster series Yellowstone has been to the scores of independent country artists featured on the soundtrack and in the series itself. Literal careers have been made through the show thanks to creator Taylor Sheridan and Music Supervisor Andrea von Foerster.
But that has not been the only vehicle for cool music from the Taylor Sheridan/Andrea von Foerster universe this winter. And no, it’s not the Yellowstone prequel starring Harrison Ford. It’s been the show Tulsa King starring Sylvester Stallone. Created by Sheridan with Andrea von Foerster once again acting as Music Supervisor, the show is about a mafia capo who gets out of prison, and is assigned by his boss to relocate to Tulsa to set up criminal operations in the city. It has been streaming on Paramount+ every Sunday evening as a followup to Yellowstone.
This is the first time Sly Stallone has taken a leading role in a scripted series, and it was due to the coaxing and track record of Taylor Sheridan. Unlike Yellowstone that is mostly populated with independent country on its soundtrack, Tulsa King is more omnivorous, with hip-hop, rock, and other music mixed in. But it has a heavy dose of country too, including some artists that haven’t seen their music on Yellowstone yet.
Marcus King, Lainey Wilson, Charley Crockett, Charles Wesley Godwin, Ashland Craft, Chris Stapleton, The Black Pumas, The Steel Woods, Brit Taylor, Midland, Nikki Lane, Jake Worthington, Quaker City Nighthawks, Casey Donahew, and Jaime Wyatt are some of the cool names that have appeared in the Tulsa King soundtrack so far.
The series has received generally favorable reviews, and was recently renewed for a second season, which means more opportunities to feature cool music in the future. For now, check out who has been featured in Season 1.

This show is great! I might like it better than Yellowstone. The music I think is going to get even better too since they have teased about bringing live bands into the bar bred 2 buck now that Dwight is part owner.

That would be a cool idea. I found episodes of this old show on YouTube Nashville 99. Costars Jerry Reed. There are actual musicians on stage for the bar scenes.

The greatest song from any Stallone action sequence is ‘No Easy Way Out’ by Robert Tepper from Rocky 4. I can’t find inspiration with Charlie Crockett when I’m trying to finish my cable pull down set with fury at Planet Fitness.

Although not nearly as good as this one, another series with a decent country soundtrack (e.g., Turnpike) is “Fire Country”. Learned from Sheridan universe that good music can lift a show.

Went in with low expectations but the show is solid and some of Stallones best work

What I expected to hear about the show: *Tulsa time “I left Oklahoma, drivin’ in a Pontiac” *Machine gun fire

Funny – well at least the first couple of episodes I saw. Yellowstone script starts repeating itself, I mean how many people can you get a ride to the train station?
The show, Tulsa King is definitely inspired by Lilyhammer (the first big show on Netflix) a decade ago (2012-2015), where Steven Van Zandt (Springsteen guitarist and Soprano mafia member) as Frank Tagliano, a “protected” mafia boss, moves to Norway, the site of the 1994 Winter Olympics, and starts doing “stuff” his way as Giovanni Hendrikson. SvZ was also in charge of a mostly indie/rock soundtrack to that series filmed with public Norwegian broadcaster NRK. The writing didn’t hold up all three seasons, but it was still worth watching.

Used the wrong “Paycheck to Paycheck”

They gotta work in JJ Cale and Leon Russell somehow…

Great music. Not so impressed with the series.

Terry Allen was on in the background in episode 8, I believe. Great list.

What’s not to like! Creative and witty writing, strong and believable storyline and the best of Silvester Stallone in concert with great supporting actors and an appropiate mix of music.
I love this show!!!
