Cody Jinks Announces New Album “In My Blood”
The modern King of Outlaw Country isn’t one for lounging around for a few years in between albums. After releasing a new studio album and a Lefty Frizzell tribute in 2024, Cody Jinks will be releasing his latest album called In My Blood on July 25th. Once again the album was recorded at The Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, just like most all of Cody’s music since his landmark 2015 release The Adobe Sessions.
“You’re on a journey with me. My life is my records,” Cody Jinks says. “Nothing’s changed. This album was me, my band, producers and engineers. That’s as real as it gets. That’s as authentic as I can make it.”
His band is the Tonedeaf Hippies, consisting of Joshua Thompson (bass), Drew Harakal (keys), Austin “Hot Rod” Tripp (pedal steel), Chris Claridy (guitar), and Jake Lentner (guitar), with Matt Nolen and Lenny Castro also appearing on the new album. It was produced by Joshua Thompson with Charles Godfrey.
Cody Jinks considers the new album the beginning of a “Part II” to his career, especially in his writing, with his last album, 2024’s Change The Game being the close of “Part I” where Jinks addressed his recent sobriety and the way he helped revolutionize country music as an independent artist.
Cody wrote many of the songs for the album. But like he normally does, he also collaborated with a host of co-writers, including Ward Davis, Tennessee Jet, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Channing Wilson, Kendall Marvel, and Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr, who Jinks co-wrote the title track with.
The debut single from the album called “Found” will be released on Friday, May 2nd. But members of Cody’s fan club will be able to hear it early, on Wednesday (4-30) evening.

Yes sir!!!
And somehow it’s not a 34 track morass of a ‘record’ – although for Jinx I’d welcome any and all his output!

Is Lost Highway a re-recording of the song from Collectors Item? I’d kill for that song to come to streaming

I think it’s a Hank Williams cover

Different songs

What? I was hoping it was a cover of the Bon Jovi song!
(Relax…I’m kidding! Despite rumors to the contrary, I DO have a sense of humor.)

I will add that one to my must buy list!! I still cannot stop listening to Change The Game. Great album.

Looking for ward to this, especially to hear what he has to say in “Part2” of his career. I enjoyed “Change the Game” and thought it was overlooked and underappreciated last year. Cody has also released/been on about 5 songs recently and surprised none of them are on the new album. Though, while I like them all, and worth a few listens, I wouldn’t elevate any of them to the great category. Brother with Mark Morton and Snake Pit being the best of the 5 from my perspective.

The handful of songs with either Jinks or Travis Denning are the best on that Mark Morton record. An easy listen front to back. Quite frankly, Mark Morton’s solo records have been twice as interesting as anything Lamb of God has released in the last 10 years.
I too loved Change the Game and am looking forward to this release. Cody Jinks doesn’t miss.

Interesting that the recent two singles aren’t on the album. Must have missed the cut but instead of loading up 27 songs he releases a normal album of 11. Exactly why Jinks is and will always be the man and why I will always pre-order his vinyls because he simply does not screw around with the formula that got him here. Definitely looking forward to this one. July is going to be a good month with this one coming and Joe Stamm Band setting a release date of July 11th for their album “Little Crosses.”

Joe Stamm Band is criminally underrated. Last few albums were amazing.

good news!

Sounds good to me. I’m on the older side here and many of the current artists don’t really interest me much. There is a song here or there that I like but not really whole albums. Cody Jinks is one exception. I have really enjoyed his music and I’m happy he is trying to match the 92 year old Willie Nelson in the frequency of releasing music.

Great news! Saw him in Tuscaloosa last year and he was an incredible live show. Looking forward to this one.

I am loving the new singles he released this year Snake Bit and Put the Whiskey Down, wish they were part of this new album. Excited nonetheless.

Always loved “See the Man” on his first album. Can’t wait to listen to the new version!

Can’t wait to see Cody Jinks in Indianapolis in September

It seems like he is continuing bringing in the songs from his first two albums into is official catalog. Hopefully that’s what Lost Highway and See the Man are. I’ve always wanted all those songs rereleased, but Lost Highway is a favorite. I am surprised the singles he has released so far are not part of the album. Snake Bit and Put the Whiskey Down are pretty good songs that should have landed on an album. I wonder what was his strategy was there.

Its true the man is highly prolific with new music. But judging from recent material, he’s a quality act all around. Live hes all that and more. We tend to get caught up looking for the next big thing, but meanwhile Cody Jinks just continues to record and perform truly great music. Don’t overlook him, he’s one of the greats.

I’m not overlooking him. He was my conduit towards this kind of country music (Not heard on the radio) and I’ve been a fan for almost 10 years now. I’ve liked some albums more than others (Still think Adobe Sessions and I’m not the Devil are his best) and I love that he’s bringing out new material on a regular basis. My whole point was he brought out a few singles (The two I mentioned and “It’s a Long Way to the Top) but didn’t put them in the new album. I was just wondering why that was.

Day one. Great news.

This is a an exceptional song.
