Kentucky music savant Sturgill Simpson and country legend Gary Stewart led the 2024 inductees into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 26th at the Renfro Valley Entertainment Center in Mount Vernon.
The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame has just announced their 2024 class, and as can be expected there is a heavy dose of country and bluegrass greats going in. This includes Ketucky natives Sturgill Simpson and Gary Stewart.
There is perhaps no artist, no performer in the history of country music whose impact, influence, appeal, and footprint so far outpaced the recognition he received in life and death than Gary Stewart.
Though you won’t see any press releases about it, or social media posts about it from their personal accounts, both Tyler Childers and Chris Stapleton have been spotted in the region with their boots on the ground in Kentucky directly helping local residents after the historic flooding.
The Saving Country Music Artist of the Year Award is not exclusively about the musical output an artist contributes in a year. This award is about who best embodies the idea behind the phrase “saving country music” in a given year.
