2024 Ameripolitan Awards to Air on AXS TV

It was one of the ages at Austin, TX’s Moody Theater on February 18, 2024 for the 10th Annual gathering of the Ameripolitan Awards founded by Dale Watson along with his wife Celine Lee. As Saving Country Music reported at the time, it really felt like 2024 was the year when Ameripolitan came into its own.

Those who were in attendance felt lucky to be there, and luckily for the folks who couldn’t make it, a full camera crew was there to capture everything, facilitated by the fact that it was held at the Moody Theater where Austin City Limits tapes all of its presentations. This means that for the first time (sans single camera livestreams), there will be a full broadcast of the Ameripolitan Awards for all who couldn’t be there.

On Sunday, August 18 at 1 p.m. ET, AXS TV will premier the 2024 Ameripolitan Awards as a 2 1/2-hour presentation. Set your DVR’s now.

“We are very excited to be presenting this broadcast special featuring the best of our 2024 award show,” says Dale Watson. “It showcases some amazing talent and highlights the breadth and appeal of roots country music.”

The presentation includes performances and presentations by Brennen Leigh, Kelly Willis, and Melissa Carper, a.k.a. the “Wonder Women of Country,” as well as Junior Brown, Wayne “The Train” Hancock, Texas Tornados Augie Meyers & Flaco Jiménez, Ray Benson, Les Greene, and many others.

Just as important, you also get to see all the winners, including Outlaw legend Billy Don Burns win for Outlaw Male, and the Kaitlin Butts speech that had everyone talking. To see what you can expect, check out Saving Country Music’s recap of the awards.

Ameripolitan is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 organization that looks to recognize the folks in American roots music that are overlooked by most of the mainstream country music industry.
